MG Epyon Review

Here is the MG Epyon Ver Ka from Gundam Wing.
For those you who watch the show would know that Epyon was design only for close range combat and lacks any type of range weapons on it. For it's weapons it only has two, the Beam Sword and the Heat Rod.
I love the design of both weapons on this kit, but I am a little disappointed with the heat rod. The heat rod was design so it can lock up in place or unlock and move it around, but I find that once I unlock it it becomes very weak and it is very hard for it to stay up in place. This problem is really bad at the area were the heat rod connects to the shield as even when it is lock in place it will not stay put. I am sure this problem will be fix once I paint this kit up as the paint will make the connections tighter.
As for the Beam Sword I just love it. It is connected to the main body by a wire that has a very tiny metal rod inside of it so it and not just a chuck of tubing which was very nice. It's beam effect part for the beam sword also looks very nice and it just pops in and out which it also stays in place very well.
As for the kit itself it is very nice. I just love the wings on this kit as they look great and also have the ability to spread open or close by pulling down or up on the wings and they can move up and down and back and forth so they have a wide range of movement.
One complaint about this kit is that alot of parts well fall off on this. I had problems with the front skirt armor coming off if you move the legs to high up. I also had some problems with the little fins on the side of the ankle armor and the boosters on the back popping off as well.
Overall if your a big fan of Gundam Wing, or just love the Epyon design or just looking for a good MG, I highly recommend this kit.

Here are some pictures of the kit unpainted:

Epyon's tiny cockpit open
The shield
Shield with Heat Rod
The Beam Sword
Moving the legs up this much keep popping off the front skirt armor
In it's dragon mode
It's a bird! No it's a Dragon! No wait, it is just a gundam.........

Do the eyes light up or is that just from the camera flash?

No sadly that would just be the light reflecting off the green stickers under the clear part. But adding some LED's in it may be a neat idea I should try.
